The Scotch® Electrical Insulating Tape 88 is a particularly thick premium electrical insulating tape with a PVC film backing. It is characterized by its high abrasion resistance and mechanical resilience. The insulating tape is coated with a rubber adhesive that has excellent adhesive strength and elasticity even at sub-zero temperatures. The 0.22 millimeter thick adhesive tape is self-extinguishing and long-term temperature-resistant up to 105 °C. It can withstand a breakdown voltage of 10,000 volts and is resistant to moisture, UV radiation, oil, acids, alkalis and copper corrosion. This makes the PVC tape ideal for all electrical insulation up to one kilovolt that places high demands on chemical, physical and mechanical resilience.
