Orion is ABB's light grid/light curtain series. The products are available in a base and an extended version. All extended versions have an integrated muting and blanking function. The Orion devices are safety light grids/curtains for applications where it is important to protect people from a dangerous machine, robot or other automated system and where there is access to a hazardous area. Orion creates a protective field using infrared rays. As soon as a beam is interrupted, a stop command is triggered and the dangerous movement is stopped. M12 connectors guarantee quick connection and the wide range of accessories makes installation quick and easy. The integrated muting light reduces the necessary cabling and the existing muting function reduces complexity. The different models can be used to optimize costs.
