Orion3 Extended is the new active optoelectronic protective device (AOPD) that uses a light curtain to secure work areas and creates a protective field with infrared rays. This can protect people from a dangerous machine, robot or other automated system that has access to a hazardous area. As soon as a beam is interrupted, a stop command is triggered and the dangerous movement is stopped. All extended versions have an integrated muting function. The muting function reduces complexity because objects can pass through the light curtain, while a stop command is triggered when people are detected. Orion3 specializes in body detection. The difference to the other Orion variants is that Orion3 reduces even more wiring. Only one active unit needs to be connected because the beams from the transmitter/receiver are reflected by the passive unit. The LEDs on the transmitter/receiver display help to check the AOPD status and the integrated muting light reduces the amount of wiring required. The display also provides information about the configuration set. This reduces complexity and saves time. M12 connectors guarantee quick connection and the wide range of accessories enables quick and easy installation.
