The BERNSTEIN door contacts of the SEL series have been a fixture in elevator technology for years. Due to the spring-loaded design of the contacts, the contact surfaces are mechanically moved each time they are actuated, which causes a cleaning effect by the actuator. Dirt, dust and any oxide layers are rubbed off - the electrical contact is reliably established.
