How do you keep your CMD stainless steel products rust-free? To ensure that the stainless steel surface has a perfect appearance, we generally recommend cleaning and care every 6 months. We recommend our care oil in the practical spray can for this. The first cleaning should ideally be done after assembly. Any dirt and deposits that have already formed can be removed with standard household cleaning agents that are free of iron and chlorine or special stainless steel cleaners.
Why can stainless steel products with a rust-free specification still rust?
Rust can occur due to unfavorable environmental influences or improper handling and care. Fine foreign particles break through the passive layer of the stainless steel surface and can cause and even accelerate corrosion.
Improper handling and care:
Small iron particles, chips and dust, e.g. from drilling, grinding, etc.
When assembling with tools that have previously come into contact with iron
When sparks fly onto the stainless steel surface, e.g. when drilling, grinding, grinding, etc.
When in contact with chemical substances such as chlorine cleaner, lime, cement dust, etc.)
Unfavorable environmental influences:
High air humidity with a salt content, e.g. near the sea
Air pollution in industrial regions (acid rain)
Spray water containing road salt, e.g. near roads
