Use the full potential of 802.11ac Wave 2. Experience faster connections with combined data transfer rates of up to 2.5 Gbit/s2.
In addition, link aggregation allows two Gigabit Ethernet ports to be connected to each other so that they act as a single port with twice the bandwidth to increase the overall throughput of the access point.
Increased network efficiency
The DWL-8620AP's 4x4 MU-MIMO technology makes full use of all data streams, connecting more clients with greatly improved WLAN performance.
MU-MIMO (Multi-User Multiple Input Multiple Output) communicates over multiple Antennas with multiple clients at the same time. This allows the access point to use the frequency spectrum more efficiently and significantly increase network capacity.
Lightning-fast setup
For the best possible Wi-Fi coverage, the access point can be mounted on the ceiling or wall. The integrated PoE (Power over Ethernet) port makes deployment even faster and is also no problem in areas without a power outlet.
Powerful management
When combined with D-Link Unified Wireless Controllers (DWC-1000 and DWC-2000), hundreds of DWL-8620APs in the WLAN can be conveniently and efficiently managed centrally.
Automatic frequency management
With radio frequency resource management1, the WLAN coverage can be automatically managed to provide the best possible signal quality for WLAN clients.
When access points are deployed close to each other, interference between channels can occur without frequency management. If the DWL-8620AP detects a close neighbor AP, it automatically selects an interference-free channel.
This significantly reduces frequency interference, allowing you to position the APs more closely. If a nearby AP is using the same channel, the DWL-8620AP automatically adjusts its transmission power to further minimize interference1. If one AP fails, the others increase their transmission power and thus their coverage.
Band Steering
This function assigns clients the optimal frequency band. This avoids congestion and enables smooth streaming, trouble-free surfing and fast downloads.
Airtime Fairness
Ensures the same airtime for every customer. This improves performance even when slower devices are connected.
802.11k Fast Roaming
Allows WLAN clients to switch seamlessly between access points.
802.1p Quality of Service (QoS)
Supports 802.1p QoS for higher data throughput and better performance for time-critical traffic such as VoIP and streaming DSCP.
