Residual current circuit breakers (RCCBs) switch off the power supply when dangerously high fault currents occur. In this way they protect people, animals and systems. DFS 4 are two- or four-pole residual current circuit breakers for single- or three-phase networks. In the standard version, the compact devices are four module widths. They are available with many different residual current types and versions for rated currents of up to 125 A. The large double-deck terminals can also accommodate large conductor cross-sections. The tripped position of the multi-function switch toggle makes troubleshooting easier. The free label software helps with labeling. Type A switches are sensitive to pulse and alternating current. This function is independent of the mains voltage. Selective residual current circuit breakers are used in systems with staggered distributions. In the event of a fault, only the switch in whose system section the fault current is present trips. The selective RCCBs offer fire and fault protection (in the event of indirect contact), but not additional protection (direct contact, personal protection). Standard devices are designed for monitoring circuits with a rated voltage of 230 V/400 V and a rated frequency of 50 Hz. Features: - response delay for selective execution, - high immunity to surge fault currents and mains voltage-driven follow-on current pulses - tripping independent of mains and auxiliary voltage, - sensitive to alternating and pulsating direct fault currents (type A) - small size for all rated currents, - high short-circuit strength, - double-sided double-deck terminals for large conductor cross-sections and busbar connections, - switch position indicator, - viewing window for labels, - multifunctional switch toggle with three positions: 'on', 'off', 'tripped', - also available in the 'HD' version - neutral conductor position on the left, also available as N on the right at no extra charge. Mounting type: - Quick fastening on mounting rail - Any installation position - Any feed direction Applications: - Main distribution boards in extensive power supplies with TN-S, TT and TN-CS systems, e.g. for campsites, marinas, allotments, showgrounds. Selective residual current circuit breakers protect the cables from the main distribution board to the sub-distribution boards. - Not suitable for use in TN-C networks and for protecting systems in which electronic equipment can cause smooth DC residual currents or residual currents with frequencies other than 50 Hz. Comprehensive protection is not provided here. For such applications, we recommend our universal current-sensitive residual current circuit breakers (type B or B+). Notes: - To ensure the selectivity of the RCCB, the rated residual current of the selective RCCB must be at least one level higher than that of the downstream instantaneous switch.
