The number of registrations of electric cars is increasing rapidly and with it the demand for options to be able to charge several vehicles at the same time in the same place. With its Wallbox Combox, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG is responding to exactly this need and offering a system for the transparent and smart control of the charging infrastructure. The Heidelberg Combox was first presented at the virtual Hannover Messe in April 2021.
The Heidelberg Combox enables the control of the Heidelberg Wallbox Energy Control via a network interface. It informs the user via the backend system or web interface about the exact charging status, enables precise diagnostics and evaluations and allows access to current and stored data on the charging situation. The software update of the charging infrastructure can also be carried out via the Heidelberg Combox.
The application protocol OCPP 1.6, a standard protocol for communication between central charging management and the connected charging stations, allows connection to various cloud-based backend providers. This enables remote access to the entire charging system.
Up to 16 Heidelberg Energy Control wallboxes can be smartly networked with one another using the Combox. And this in a safe and user-friendly way. This is particularly advantageous where several charging stations are centrally controlled. Apartment buildings and hotels, for example, like to equip their parking spaces for tenants and customers with the Heidelberg Combox.
The Heidelberg Combox takes on the leader function when controlling the charging infrastructure and thus also controls up to 16 wallboxes in a locally dynamic load management system. Like the Heidelberg Combox Lite, it has no charging functionality and can be installed and operated at any spatial distance from the wallboxes.
In contrast to the Lite variant, the Heidelberg Combox is designed for outdoor use. Protection against weather resistance is guaranteed by the IP54 protection class. Both winter cold down to -25° C and summer heat up to 40° C are tolerated without any problems.
The innovative and stylish design follows the well-known product line of Heidelberg wall boxes. The elegant housing is made of stainless steel and has a status light.
The manufacturer Heidelberg Druckmaschinen AG promises high-quality production, following the zero-defect principle. In several ADAC tests, this company's products in the field of e-technology have already received top marks. Please note that this wallbox is only approved and licensed for Germany. If you install this wallbox outside of Germany, the warranty and liability are void!
