The LCN-RT is a miniaturized infrared (IR) handheld transmitter. It offers four very robust membrane buttons and acoustic feedback. As is usual with LCN, the buttons distinguish between SHORT/LONG press and RELEASE, so that up to 12 commands can be triggered at the receiver. If the user wishes, up to 4 button levels can be assigned, resulting in 48 commands. The LCN-RT also offers three different options for setting up privileged controls, locking systems and access control systems. To do this, it transmits a code that the user can enter and its serial number to the receiver. All IR telegrams in the LCN remote control system are protected against incorrect transmission with a checksum. Transmits 48 bits of information (4x as much as conventional handheld transmitters). Three operations are distinguished for all 4 buttons: SHORT, LONG and RELEASE. Supports four button levels, so that the user has 16 buttons available if required. Sends a code that can be programmed by the user with each press. All LCN modules can evaluate this code and individually accept or reject transmitters. In addition, a unique, fixed serial number is transmitted. It can either be evaluated in the LCN modules for individual key assignment and/or forwarded to the PC access control with person recognition. A checksum is generated and sent along. This enables the receiver to detect transmission faults and prevent incorrect control - a first in IR remote control technology. The operating program is fully compatible with that of the large handheld transmitter LCN-RT16. The IR telegram contains an identifier that the receiver can use to identify the type of transmitter.
