Thanks to its galvanized sheet steel housing, the 1-pole mechanical built-in thermostat is very robust and can also be used under harsh conditions. The measuring system used works according to the liquid expansion principle and can be used without problems up to a maximum permissible sensor temperature of 145 °C. The smooth round sensor made of copper has a diameter of 6 mm and a sensor length of approx. 72 mm. The thermostat's long-distance line is also made of copper and can be laid flexibly provided a bending radius of 5 mm is observed. The first 460 mm from the switching head are covered with an electrically insulating PVC protective hose. The device has a capillary rupture protection device, which opens the switching contact and goes into a neutral position if the measuring system is destroyed. It is then no longer possible to unlock the thermostat. The maximum permissible ambient temperature at the switching head (protection class IP00) is 80 °C. The temperature compensation reduces the ambient temperature influence on the switching head to a minimum. The switch head is attached using a screw connection with an M10x1 thread and a lock nut. The desired switching point can be freely set within the control range using a screwdriver. The safety temperature limiter is characterized by a high switching point accuracy of +0/-5 K. A decisive advantage is that no additional auxiliary power is required for temperature measurement. The electrical connection is made to the flat plugs (A 6.3 x 0.8 DIN 46244) of the switch set, which can directly switch a maximum permissible switching capacity of AC 230 volts / 16 A. The device is equipped with a changeover contact. The thermostat has an unlocking difference of approx. 10 K, below which the device can be unlocked simply by pressing a button.
