For the devices in the AC series, the USB interface is used to set the device parameters and to update the device firmware. It also establishes the connection between a Windows computer and the IR interface on the AC ELWA. To operate the device, a license-free 'Virtual Com Port Driver' from FTDI® must be installed on the PC.
