The Harmony XPS Universal safety relays are ideal for use in a variety of safety applications thanks to their selectable safety function and start option using rotary switches on the front. This reduces the variety of devices required and the diagnostic function allows states to be easily transferred to a PLC, so that in the event of a fault, downtime is reduced by clear error information. The required function can be easily set from 10 selectable safety functions. Mechanical contacts from emergency stop/stop buttons, position, magnetic, enabling switches, two-hand operation type IIIC, PNP sensors, light curtains or RFID safety switches with OSSD outputs can be connected to the inputs. A safety function can be operated via the 4 inputs in 2x two-channel (redundant) versions. Automatic, manual or monitored start as well as an optional start-up test are available for the start function. This safety switching device has 2 safe relay normally open contacts and 1 diagnostic message as outputs. With the help of qualified diagnostics, states and errors are detected and transmitted to a standard input of a PLC using a telegram via direct wiring. A pre-configured function block for common control systems evaluates these messages so that the operator is fully informed on the machine display. The supply voltage is 24 VAC/DC and the connections are made via removable screw terminals. Applications up to safety level PL e in category 4 or SIL3 are possible. If the number of outputs is to be increased, the XPSUEP extension can simply be connected to the side via an integrated connector, saving time by dispensing with cross-wiring. Installation is carried out by snapping it onto a top hat rail or screwing it onto mounting plates. A uniquely numbered locking strap is included to protect the settings under the transparent cover.
