The Harmony XPS Universal safety relays are characterized by their range of functions and diagnostic capabilities, which reduce downtime in the event of a fault. This safety relay includes safe standstill detection by measuring the remanent voltage, so that no further sensors need to be installed. To do this, the motor cable is connected to the standstill monitor and the voltage induced by the winding down rotary movement is measured after the motor is switched off. If the measured remanent voltage falls below the limit value set on the front (50-500 mV), the motor is assumed to be at a standstill. In addition, a delay time of 0.5 to 60 seconds can also be set on the front. DC and AC motors in 1- or 3-phase networks up to 690 V can be monitored for motor standstill. This safety switching device has 1 safe relay normally open contact, 1 semiconductor signal output and 1 diagnostic message as an output. With the help of qualified diagnostics, states and errors are detected and transmitted to a standard input of a PLC using a telegram via direct wiring. A pre-configured function block for common control systems evaluates these messages so that the operator is fully informed on the machine display. The supply voltage is 24 VAC/DC and the connections are made via removable spring-loaded terminals. Applications up to safety level PL e in category 3 or SIL3 are possible. If the number of outputs is to be increased, the XPSUEP extension can simply be connected to the side via an integrated connector, saving time by dispensing with cross-wiring. Installation is carried out by snapping it onto a top hat rail or screwing it onto mounting plates. A uniquely numbered locking strap is included to protect the settings under the transparent cover.
