The modules can either be plugged directly into an ET 200pro CPU or connected to a central controller via PROFINET or PROFIBUS. The connection to the central controller is also possible wirelessly via WLAN, which enables the use of the SIMATIC ET 200pro in electric monorail systems, driverless transport systems, in building management and in warehouse logistics. Thanks to its extensive range of modules, it is particularly used where a finely modular structure with different functions is required under harsh environmental conditions. The separation of module and bus/power connection technology enables a component to be replaced during operation (so-called hot swapping), which, in conjunction with the detailed diagnosis, ensures the availability and productivity of the machine.
