The line choke increases the converter's protection against overvoltages, harmonics and commutation dips. In order not to reduce the service life of a converter, a line choke is required if the relative short-circuit voltage uk of the line transformer is < 1%. The line choke covers the single-phase voltage range from 200 V to 240 V and the three-phase voltage range from 200 V to 600 V.
