is basically designed for use in fiber optic networks and enables the multiplexing/demultiplexing of different wavelengths (Data 1310/1490nm & RF Overlay 1550nm). By separating the lambdas in front of the ONT/ONU, the data or RF overlay signals can be made available separately. This layout makes it possible to increase the RF usage via the ONT to a range of 87-862 MHz or 950-2150 MHz, which the fiber optic converter provides for RF.
