The Store n Go external hard drive is USB 3.0 bus-powered and backwards compatible with USB 2.0 ports on PCs or notebooks. The power supply for this external hard drive is provided directly via the USB port and is ready for use straight away.

Hard drives of less than 2 TB are formatted in FAT32 and can be used immediately in Windows or Mac OS X. Hard drives of more than 2 TB are formatted in NTFS, which is only compatible with Windows operating systems. Mac users must reformat the hard drive in HFS+ so that it is fully compatible with Mac OS X operating systems. Formatting in HFS+ can be done using the Verbatim VHD formatter included on the hard drive.

For additional security of your PC or laptop, the included 'Nero BackItUp Essentials' software will help you to back up your files. With 'BackItUp Essentials' you can back up all your files, folders and drives at any time or set up automatic backups at a specific time for additional security.

'Nero BackItUp Essentials' software is compatible with Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 8 and Windows 10 (not compatible with Mac OS).

Also included with the Verbatim Store n Go external hard drive is the Green Button energy saving software. This software allows you to switch the external hard drive off completely when it is not in use. This increases efficiency and saves energy.
