Load and current relay type COSFI100V
Current direction relay and motor load relay for cosfi and/or active current measurement, underload and overload monitoring, reverse load monitoring, energy flow direction sensor, self-consumption optimization
Product description
Motor load monitors monitor motors in alternating and three-phase networks for overload and/or underload. They are connected to the motor's supply line and evaluate the phase angle between voltage and motor current or, optionally, the active current.
The power factor cos Phi shows the greatest changes when the motor is under low load. Monitoring this parameter is therefore particularly suitable for detecting underload.
When the motor is under high load, the motor current shows the greatest changes. Provided that the motor is not oversized for the application, the current is better suited to detecting overload.
COSFI 100V can monitor both values. It is even possible to use Alarm 1 to evaluate the phase angle and the drive for underload and Alarm 2 to monitor for overload by measuring the current. This allows the motors of drives to be monitored and, for example, a broken V-belt or a blocked filter or valve to be detected. An extra sensor on site and supply lines are no longer required.
With the digital display and many setting options, the device can be optimized for the respective task. The resolution of the measuring input is 0.1 A. If a current transformer is used, this must be multiplied by the transformer factor.

V-belt monitoring
Fan monitoring
Pump monitoring
Conveyor systems (message when load is too low)
Agitators
Wear monitoring
Tool wear
Protection of motors, systems and drives against overload.
As a current direction relay, the device measures the level and direction of the active current in one phase and can therefore be used for direction-dependent monitoring of alternating current.
Increasing the self-consumption of photovoltaic systems. Consumers can be switched on or off depending on the available feed-in power. By measuring the current at the feed-in point, you can determine whether there is enough excess power from the photovoltaic system for the heat pump, air conditioning, cooling unit or other large consumers.
Warning or shutdown if a generator takes in power instead of giving it off
In an alternating current motor (inductive load), the current lags behind the voltage by the phase angle. As the load decreases, this increases and the cos factor decreases. This change in the phase angle is a measure of the change in the load of the motor. The COSFI 100V motor load monitor is suitable for sinusoidal alternating voltage signals.
