D-Link DES-1008PA 8x10/100Mbit/s Layer 2 Fast Ethernet Switch

This compact switch offers plug & play connections with Fast Ethernet speed and is designed for use in home offices, small offices, work groups and departmental networks. The DES-1008P is equipped with eight 10/100Mbit ports, four of which are IEEE 802.3af PoE compatible.

The DES-1008P enables cost-effective connection of desktop PCs. In addition, Power-over-Ethernet end devices such as WLAN access points, cameras and VoIP telephones are supplied with power and data at the same time. The DES-1008P works with all devices compatible with the industry standard IEEE 802.3af PoE and delivers up to 15.4W per port via a standard Cat. 5 network cable.

With Power-over-Ethernet you can position your end devices flexibly anywhere. From now on, you can do without sockets at the end devices and save additional costs for laying power connections. This combined connection can be up to 100 m long.

Plug & Play installation
No complicated settings are required for this unmanaged switch. Installation is quick and easy thanks to plug & play, which takes just a few minutes. The fanless design of the desktop switch allows it to be positioned directly at the workplace without annoying background noise. Monitoring is also convenient: the LED displays on the front of the switch show the current status of all connected end devices.

The DES-1008P automatically detects the transmission rate of the connected computers and all PoE-capable end devices. In addition, the switch automatically distinguishes between full and half-duplex operation and supports flow control in accordance with IEEE 802.3x. This enables fast and reliable data transmission, even for time-critical applications.
