10/100 Mbps PORTS WITH AUTOSENSING
The DES-105/DES-108 5/8-port 10/100 Mbps switch uses 10/100 Mbps ports with automatic speed detection (autosensing). This gives small workgroups the flexibility to connect Ethernet and Fast Ethernet devices to create an integrated network. The ports detect the network speed and automatically negotiate between 10BASE-T and 100BASE-TX and between full and half duplex. This ensures the optimal transmission speed for every device connected to the network.
LAN PORTS WITH AUTO-MDI/MDIX
All ports on the DES-105/108 support automatic MDI/MDIX adaptation, eliminating the need for crossover cables and uplink ports. Each port can be connected directly to a server, hub, router or switch using a standard, straight-through twisted pair Ethernet cable. In addition, the DES-105/108's Ethernet ports are located on the front for easy accessibility and are equipped with two-color LED indicators that allow quick identification of the connection status.
FLOW CONTROL FOR SECURE TRANSMISSION
When a port's buffer capacity is reached, the 802.3x flow control feature is activated to minimize the number of dropped packets. By minimizing the number of dropped packets, the switch provides a more reliable connection for all your connected devices while you browse the Internet, play games, or enjoy media.
THE GREEN SOLUTION
The DES-105/DES-108 is a plug-and-play network switch equipped with D-Link's Green technology. This technology reduces power consumption and heat, extending the life of the product without compromising performance and features. The switch supports Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) according to IEEE 802.3az. This technology detects whether the connected computer is turned off or no Ethernet traffic is currently being transmitted. In this case, the switch turns off the unused port, which enables significant power savings.
