They bridge short-term power failures up to a few minutes. This time is usually sufficient, for example, to safely shut down PC-based automation systems or to visualize and archive operating data in the event of longer power failures. The USB interface and a free software tool enable easy communication with the PC. The capacitors have a very long service life even at high temperatures and can be used at ambient temperatures of up to 60 °C. There is no need to maintain or replace the energy storage unit, which means that the DC UPS pays for itself after a short time. And because the capacitors do not emit any gas, there is no need to ventilate the control cabinet. Short charging times quickly restore buffer readiness after a power failure. The UPS500S for DIN rail mounting can be extended with SITOP PSU501S extension modules (maximum 3) to extend the buffer time.
